I was invited over to Sofitel, BKC the other day to try out one of their spa treatments at SoSpa, a luxury spa initiative by the Sofitel group. The hotel is convieniently located in the heart of Mumbai’s business district offering working professionals easy access to the hotel’s recreational activities.
Upon arrival, I was greeted by the spa manager who gave me a mini tour of the 6000 sq ft space which included SoSpa, SoFit (gym), Savio John Pereira Salon and a terraced pool area. I was then taken to the reception area where I was made to fill out a little questionnaire about my preferences (room temperature and lighting, massage intensity, focus areas, etc.) for a truly personalized experience. The SoSpa Menu offers a variety of options ranging from facials to scalp, body and foot massages. I decided to go for the 90 min Shea Nurturing Massage that is meant to deeply hydrate and nourish your skin while easing your muscles and relaxing your body - just what the doctor ordered!
The spa has 6 treatment suites along with a couple’s therapy suite and exclusively uses L’Occitane products for all treatments. Each suite is equipped with an attached bathroom and a roomy closet complete with fluffy bathrobes, slippers and a mini safe. The therapist began by offering a choice of aromatherapy oils to choose from. I picked the Indian ayurvedic and lavender ones. The therapist was attentive the entire way through, making sure that I could fully relax and immerse myself in the experience. The treatment also included a hot stone massage that felt incredible! A blissful 90 minutes later, during which I’m pretty sure I dozed off a couple of times, I was led to the relaxation area where I was offered a choice between green tea and cranberry juice along with dry fruits and biscotti - the perfect end to a great massage!
If you’re in the area and are looking to treat yourself, SoSpa is a great place to unwind with treatments that would make you look and feel luxurious.
