Denim 2.0

As popular as seasonal trends may be, they rarely ever rise up to cult status in my wardrobe. Time and again I find myself retreating back to the classics for their versatility and infinite pairing options with wardrobe constants. These are the pieces that, in my opinion, never compromise in function nor style. Case in point - denim on denim or a button-down with flare-leg jeans. These perennially stylish combinations are my go-tos during those "don't know what to wear" conundrums. Speaking of denim, I was thrilled when Lee Cooper got in touch with me to create 4 distinct looks around their SS'17 collection. Their collection features denim in a multitude of styles from classic boot-cuts to laser engraved jeans and frayed hems that they like to call "Hemotion". My favourite of the lot were the deconstructed raw-hem denims that are currently having a moment on the runways and Social Media. It's all about the details, guys!

Look one features a button down shirt worn as an off shoulder and flare bottoms. To complete this office-friendly look, I went with a pair of nude pumps to elongate the legs and added a belt to cinch in the waist.

There's something about mixing and matching masculine and feminine pieces that never ceases to intrigue me and look 2 features just that. I picked an over-size men's shirt and layered it under a corset. Skinny zip-detail jeans and croc heels completed the look for me. You could also ditch the corset for a more relaxed day look.

Look 3 centres around a casual day look with a checkered front-tie shirt and frayed hem shorts. I'm not much of a shorts person but these ones are SO comfortable!

The final look is the simplest of the lot with belted jeans and a tee featuring one of Lee Coopers trademark prints. This look is one that I'd always resort to, say when I've pressed the snooze button one too many times. Which of the 4 outfits would you go for?
