My Skin My City
My skin tends to be at its worst in winter and living in Bombay doesn't at all help. All the traveling, stress and pollution leaves me looking like a hot mess. During the day, I wear sunscreen and try to limit my time in the sun but there is little that can be done about exposure to pollution, particularly in urban areas like Bombay and Delhi. Pollution is known to be one of the main causes of damage to the skin. The smog, dirt and dust in the air often combine with the sun’s UV rays to form free radicals that cause the skin to age prematurely, especially on the face, neck and hands along with pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles. While there is no way to completely avoid pollution, unless you consider locking yourself up at home and never stepping out, there are a few ways to reduce its effects. In my previous post, I talked about the My Skin My City app by BoroPlus. I like how it helped me identify problem areas concerning my skin and made me realize how much I've been neglecting it by giving me an overall skin score along with solutions on how to tackle them. Read more about that here. My skincare regime has been pretty much non-existent this year but I've vowed to do better. I’ll keep you updated on how that goes.
The more you learn about your own skin, the easier it gets to select products that’ll eventually help improve its condition. So, click on the image below to use the app and don’t forget to share your scores with me! :)
